“I am really excited about ‘Zila Ghaziabad’. It is great to work with an actor like Sanjay Dutt in this film which has three phenomenal characters (including the one played by Arshad Warsi),” says Vivek who has already shot a major portion of the film. “I am playing a role opposite Dutt once again after ‘Shootout At Lokhandwala’. Yet again, Dutt plays a cop while I am in the role of a gangster.”

‘Zila Ghaziabad’ sees the merger of fact and fiction and Vivek is impressed by its Ghaziabad setting. “The tales that you hear about this city are phenomenal. The story had caught me unaware and when I started enacting the written character, it was an altogether different high,” confesses the actor.

And that’s not all. Vivek is playing the main villain opposite Hrithik Roshan in ‘Krrish 2’ where his character is reportedly modelled on the lines of ‘Joker’ in the Batman series. But Vivek is not worried that the presence of father-son duo — Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan — will overshadow his character in the movie. “For a hero to become bigger, he needs to defeat a big villain. I am that villain here so I have no worries whatsoever,” Vivek adds.

Vivek will be seen playing a quintessential hero in ‘Kimsat, Love, Paisa, Dilli’, being directed by Sanjay Khanduri of ‘Ek Chalis Ki Last Local’ fame. “There are realistic, sci-fi as well as contemporary characters coming my way. With good filmmakers backing good scripts and offering me good parts in their films, the going is indeed better than ever. I just hope and pray that there is only upwards movement from here,” the actor said.

The 35-year-old actor started his career with Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Company’ in 2002. The film became a box office success and Vivek was noticed for his performance. His romantic outing in ‘Saathiya’ also hit the bull’s eye at the box office. His acting career suffered a blow after he accused Salman Khan of harassing him over former girlfriend Aishwarya Rai at a press conference in 2003. However, with a number of big ticket movies, the actor seems ready for a comeback.
