Boney Kapoor's ex-wife dead

Mona Shourie Kapoor died in Mumbai at the age of 48, of multiple organ cancer; she is survived by a son and a daughter.

MUMBAI: Producer Mona Shourie Kapoor, ex-wife of Bollywood filmmaker Boney Kapoor, died in a hospital here Sunday after battling multiple organ cancer for about five months. Just a few days before her death, she tweeted, "Kindly pray for me!" She was 48.

"The news is true. Mona expired today (Sunday)," Tusshar Kapoor confirmed through SMS.

Director Anees Bazmi said: "I just got the news. It is really sad. I have not spoken to Boney yet. I am in Gujarat right now."

Mona was wheeled into the Hinduja Hospital two weeks ago and was undergoing treatment on its 15th floor. The reports were that her condition was very bad when she was brought to the hospital.

The funeral is Monday at Pavan Hans in Santa Cruz here.

"My aunt @monakapoor3 funeral is at 10.30 am Tom (Monday) 26th at pavan hans," tweeted actress Sonam Kapoor.

After hearing the news of her demise, Khan brothers - Salman and Arbaaz, who were shooting for ‘Dabangg 2’ at the Kamalistan Studio immediately left for the hospital.

Mona is survived by two children - Arjun Kapoor and Anshula.

Mona, daughter of producer Sattee Shourie, was the CEO of Future Studios, which is described as the largest fully-furnished indoor shooting studio in the city.

She also produced successful television shows like ‘Hera Pheri’, ‘Yug’, ‘Wilayatee Babu’ and ‘Kaise Kahoon’.

She was active on Twitter in her last days and March 16, she had tweeted: "Once more anyone asks how I am, I will block them. You all know I am in hospital and battling stage 3 multiple organs cancer. Kindly pray for me. That's all."
