When the superhero based on the Bollywood mega movie Krrish hits TV screens in the all-new animated avatar this season, there will be a Kerala touch to it. For, Toonz Animation, based out of Technopark Thiruvananthapuram, has partnered with Film Kraft and Turner for the making of Kid Krrish animated movie acted by Hrithik Roshan.
“The animated ‘Krrish’ franchises are fun films that are guaranteed to be a visual treat with mass appeal. It is not every day that 11-year-olds get to be super heroes! We are thrilled about partnering with the legendary Rakesh Roshan and Cartoon Network. This is a huge milestone as far as Toonz Animation is concerned,” said P Jayakumar, CEO, Toonz Animation India.
Krishna Desai, senior director and network head - kids, South Asia, Turner International India Pvt Ltd said: “Turner has consistently set benchmarks in the kids’ genre. We aim to do the same yet again with Kid Krrish, a re-imagined adaptation of the popular live action Krrish franchise in animation. Kid Krrish is all set to join the Cartoon Network super league of globally renowned and loved characters, and entertain kids and families across the country.”
Rakesh Roshan, director, Film Kraft Productions (India) Pvt Ltd, said that it is for the first time that a Bollywood character is set to get an animated version.
“The character of Krrish has been idolised by every child in India and has become an iconic super hero. His antics and enthusiasm will capture the imagination of kids not only in India but worldwide. We believe that Kid Krrish will be the new superhero for a whole new generation of children and a benchmark in animated series of live action,” he said.
Hrithik Roshan, Bollywood actor and protagonist of the movie Krrish, further added: “Believing in the unbelievable is what makes life extraordinary.
