Nikhil Advani has moved ahead of his soft focus Kal Ho Na Ho days to make gritty films like D Day. His forthcoming film Katti Batti also is a story of romance and break up, in which two-time National award winner Kangana plays one more bold Bohemian character.
In fact, Katti Batti was originally named the rather shocking Saali Kutiya, before wiser counsel prevailed.
Nikhil says that they dropped the initial title as they didn’t want to simply create a flutter around it. Katti Batti follows the lives of a couple and the ups and downs in their relationship.
Explaining his decision of changing the title, Advani says, “The film is about the ups and downs in a relationship and what transpires in a couple’s life and how the differences gets resolved. We felt it was not necessary to go with that title Saali Kutiya just for the sake of creating a buzz with the title. I was okay with the idea of dropping that title. When this title came to me, I loved it. I do feel Katti Batti sums up what the film is about.”
