Amitabh Bachchan, Wife Jaya to Get Rs 50,000 Pension From Uttar Pradesh

The UP assembly announced the initiative that all the recipients of the state’s highest honour are eligible to receive Rs 50,000 monthly pension.

As one of the first beneficiaries of Uttar Pradesh’s latest pension scheme to people awarded with Yash Bharti Samman, Amitabh Bachchan, son Abhishek and wife Jaya will get Rs 50,000 monthly pension for life.

The UP assembly announced the initiative that all the recipients of the state’s highest honour are eligible to receive Rs 50,000.

Around 150 people whose origins traced back to the state since the inception of the award (1994) were conferred with the honour.

The 50k pension is amongst the highest in the country. Other schemes such as Freedom Fighters pension Scheme fetches beneficiaries Rs 20,129 per month, former Andaman prisoners get Rs 23,309 pm, BCCI pays cricketers who played at least 100 Test cricket matches get Rs 50,000.
