The only way to keep fit is to eat right and exercise. But exercising every day isn’t possible given my hectic schedule. I make it a point, however, to burn calories through various activities. On the days when I am not shooting, I workout for two hours at a stretch in the gym, but on a busy day I might just spend 30 minutes on the stationary bike. In fact, I prefer cardio and free weight exercises over strength training. With the type of body I have, I need to focus more on cardio exercises to burn calories than on lifting heavy weights.
Your workout DVD has
It has every single workout that I do in my regular life. I wanted to create something that would actually change someone’s body if they followed the routine. With good help, healthy eating, sensible exercise, your body will change into something completely different. Different workouts work for different people. Something might work for you but it might not work for me. My DVD shows the exercises I do, which are difficult.
Your workout schedule
I start my day with a workout because I am not an afternoon or night workout person. As the day progresses, I get lazy and don’t feel like working out. So I wake up, have my coffee, breakfast and then I workout.
My diet is very boring but I don’t complain. I start my day with a cup of coffee and my breakfast comprises egg whites and toasts. My lunch is a healthy chicken salad with vegetables and the same goes for dinner. I don’t snack in-between meals but if I feel hungry, I have an apple or seasonal fruits. It is a bland pattern of eating, but it is clean and healthy. I take care that my food is low on salt, as too much of sodium can lead to water retention in the body and make you bloat. I am a conscious eater and I count my calories.
Actor and actress with fittest body
Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra. Priyanka is very fit and someone I look up to. She has a great body. Sometimes, when I look at her, I am like ‘Wow, I wish I had her body!’ We live in a world where most actors want to be fit and want to look their best in front of the camera and this which requires working out.
Cut down on your soda intake by 70 percent, if not completely. Limit intake of fried foods. If you drink too much tea or coffee, try to cut down on the numbers by half. Avoid binge eating; instead indulge in cheat meals but with portion control. Stack your fridge with healthy foods so you don’t fall for junk when hungry.
