A Rejuvenated Nargis Fakhri returns to Mumbai

After a sudden absence from the Bollywood scene, Nargis Fakhri is back in town to promote her latest film, Banjo. At her forthcoming film’s music launch, the animated-as-ever actress said she regretted not being part of the promotions of her previous film, Houseful 3. “I was very sad about not being a part of the film’s promotions with my co-actors because they are hilarious, Nargis stated.”I missed out on a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I was unwell. Now I am better and super excited about the promotions of Banjo.”

Belying rumours, Nargis gave every indication that she was keen on continuing her Bollywood career. She was particularly excited about Banjo and raved, “For me, this film is about hope. There are very few movies that touch your heart and resonate with your soul, movies that you believe in. When we heard the narration, I told my manager ‘Why didn’t we say yes now? Why are we leaving?’ She asked me to think about it but I had already thought about it. It was the story that made me say yes. When something like this comes out, I really thank God for it. I feel that I am a blessed human being because I get to be part of so many beautiful things.”

“Ever since I came to India, Mumbai I never got to see the real India the inside world...but when I shot this film I got to see the soul of Mumbai. I got to see places which I wouldn’t have seen alone...no one would have taken me to show me those areas. Also to hear Marathi and taste their food was a great experience. I am happy to be part of so many different experiences.”

Nargis also sports a Maharashtrian nauvari saree in the film. She said, “I love wearing Indian attire and, any time I get to wear it, I am very excited. I think I look awesome in it.”
