It is stressful to do so much work: Jacqueline Fernandez

Housefull 3, Dishoom, A Flying Jatt. It seems like a Jacqueline festival in  2016.

It has been an exciting journey for Jacqueline Fernandez who began unsteadily in her career but who has now scored four 100 crore hits: Housefull 2, Race 2, Kick and Housefull 3. She talks about her forthcoming action comedy Dishoom, a fun action film with Sidharth Malhotra and a superhero flick, A Fying Jatt with Tiger Shroff.

Housefull 3, Dishoom, A Flying Jatt. It seems like a Jacqueline festival in  2016.

Three movies in three months is very exciting. After Aladin, I had a couple of really difficult years. I was barely managing one film a year till Murder 2, Race 2 and Housefull 2 gave me the much-needed boost. Now when I have three releases in three months, I am not complaining. It is stressful to do so much work but it is better to be continuously doing films. I am giving my 100 percent.

You will be seen as a solo heroine in Dishoom with Varun Dhawan and John Abraham. What’s your role?

The girl I am playing is a rebel without a cause. I am working with Varun for the first time which is so exciting and Rohit (Dhawan, the director) is a young cool director. It is a chase flick which does not have typical action that you see in films. Dishoom is in a very different space -- it has a small mystery element as well. It’s about our journey in which we come across bad guys galore and has several chase scenes. It reminds me of franchises like Indiana Jones or Dhoom.

Meanwhile, you seem to be enjoying your own franchise - Housefull. You have featured in all three parts.

I am extremely excited about Housefull since it is a family franchise. Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Sajid Nadiadwala, Boman Irani, Chunkey Pandey and I — we all have been there right from the beginning and there is a lot of sentimental value attached to it.

But since Housefull 3 had three heroines, didn’t you wonder if that would be the right move?

I didn’t even discuss that since I had to be a part of it. I knew it was a crazy script and I would have a great time. It had a bunch of amazing actors who are so good at comedy.

Housefull is the coolest thing that happened to me. I remember when it began, I was on a professional low and I badly wanted to be in the film. I was happy to be an item girl in Part I and later when Nadiadwala called me for Part II, I got my first major hit. Things started looking up for me after that.
