Shah Rukh Khan is continuing his current trend of working with new directors. His next film, which is due to begin shooting in August, teams him up for the first time with Imtiaz Ali.

I Wanted.jpg“I know Imtiaz since several years, from the time he directed his first film,” Shah Rukh reveals. “I really like him; he directs good stories. I really liked Jab We Met with Kareena and also Love Aaj Kal, Rockstar, Tamasha, Highway. Strangely, whenever he makes a film, he comes to my house to narrate the story though I am not a part of its cast. He has always discussed his films with me as a friend and as a creative person.”

The collaboration between the two finally happened when one day Imtiaz told Shah Rukh, “Sir, aapke liye bhi ek film hai.”

But Shah Rukh had just one condition. “I wanted him to do a happy film because I am in that zone right now— thodi khushnawaz film ho. And he had a film for me with a nice language of love. It’s a love story but it keeps my age in mind. It’s not a young upbeat love story; Imtiaz has a very nice take on love.”
