'I would love to do a punjabi film because I am punjabi and I speak the language'

Regional films are attracting Bollywood stars in a major way these days - Akshay Kumar is part of Rajanikant’s next Tamil magnum opus Robot 2 and Salman Khan has confirmed that he will be part of Riteish Deshmukh’s next Marathi film Shivaji. Now, Parineeti Chopra reveals that she too is game to try her hand at regional cinema.

“I would love to do a Punjabi film because I am Punjabi and I speak the language,” Parineeti states. “I know that people in Punjab connect with me so I would love to act in a Punjabi film.” The actress has watched her share of Punjabi language films and adds. “I do follow films that are recommended to me.”

Currently, though, Parineeti is busy with her two Hindi films - Yash Raj’s Meri Pyaari Bindu (opposite Ayushmann Khurrana) and Homi Adjania’s Tikadum (opposite Sushant Singh Rajput), so one wonders when she is likely to have time for more.
