A no-fuss foodie

My diet preference

I prefer vegetarian food.

First thing I have in the morning

Milk, tea and some roasted snacks. Later, I have some fruits -- papaya and watermelon are really good for skin and digestion. I also have muesli with milk.

Favourite food

I binge on anything made by my mother. I’ve grown up on my ‘maa ke haath ka’ healthy khaana and still today I follow the same.

Lunch comprises

A bowl of dal and sabzi that have been made with minimum oil with some multigrain rotis.

A must have accompaniment with meals

Buttermilk. It cleanses you from within, soothes the stomach after a meal, boosts your calcium intake and washes down fats. It reduces blood pressure and prevents cancer.

Sunday lunch

Sunday is mostly a cheat day where I indulge in what I’m not supposed to for the rest of the weekdays.  I eat rice with the usual dal and sabzis.

Evening snacks

A cup of coffee complemented by protein biscuits.

My dinner

I have a small meal in the night usually. It includes vegetable soup or sautéed vegetables. It’s not too filling and at the same time it’s good for health.

Favourite dessert

I usually don’t have dessert but it is my weakness. On a cheat day, I like having gulab-jamun, chocolate and cheesecake.

Favourite fruit

The king of fruits, Mango!

I dislike eating

Most fruits.

A childhood memory connected to food

I vividly remember the horrible incident when my father made me eat eggs -- I threw up immediately because I didn’t like them.

I binge on

Rum cakes and chocolate cakes.

My culinary abilities

People who are fond of food are great cooks. I’m one of them. I like cooking and I can cook Italian, Chinese and Indian and bake an excellent chocolate cake.

My worst kitchen disaster

A few days ago, I messed up while baking a pizza. I didn’t realise and kept it in the oven for far too long.

The food item I feel I look like

Khichdi ... I am a very boring person.

I feel guilty after eating

Desserts.

My favourite spice

Oregano. It has got a unique refreshing and tangy taste that makes my mood soar.

My comfort food

I believe in eating anything that’s easy to digest. I’m not fussy.
