Karan Johar and Mani Rathnam’s film OK Jaanu is now all set for a clash since it’s been announced that Deepika Padukone’s Hollywood outing, XXX: Return of Xander with Vin Diesel is being released just a day before it.
OK Jaanu, which is a Hindi remake of Mani Rathnam’s hugely popular Tamil film, O Kanmani, is directed by Shaad Ali.
The film was thought of as a big release on January 14, but now the situation has changed as Deepika announced on Twitter that her film will be releasing in India on January 13. As Deepika proudly tweeted, her film is first releasing in India before anywhere else in the world.
The small relief is that the two films do not belong to the same genre. While OK Jaanu is all about romance and the changing equations of relationships in today’s times, XXX is obviously an out and out action film.
The other film to release on January 14th is Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer, Haramkhor.
Will Deepika skip Karan’s show?
Deepika Padukone is right now busy with the promotions of her international film XXX: Return of Xander Cage. The actress has left for US last Sunday. So it might not have been possible for her to find time to be Karan’s show this season. But rumour mills suggest that Deepika was looking for an excuse to opt out. A source says, “Deepika was definitely going to be part of the show.
She was on the list of guests to be featured on the show, however it looks like she won’t be able to come this season as she has already left the country to promote the film and the show is about to be wrapped up soon.”
It is said that the actress was offered to be part of the show along with Hollywood star Vin Diesel this year. A source from the show says, “We were trying to get her and Vin together and were ready to make special arrangements too.
