NEW DELHI: PVR Ltd. (PVR)  has been accredited a certification with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) version3.2.

The PCI DSS is a comprehensive set of standards that adhere to strict information security controls and processes, which further helps in storing the customer payment data in a secured format. It is a globally recognised security certification standard, which is crucial for protecting cardholders’ information. After a successful completion of audit in April 2017 by Panacea Infosec Pvt Ltd, PVR becomes the first cinema exhibition company to receive the accreditation. This endorsement reiterates PVR’s commitment towards robust and mature technology processes to secure customer's personal and payment related information.

Kamal Gianchandani, Chief of Strategy PVR Ltd. said, “More than 50% of PVR movie ticket sales happen online. People are becoming more dependent on online transactions, and it is vital to ensure the online security for payment gateways. PCI-DSS Certification is an added, high level encrypted system that provides a secure and reliable platform to our customers while they make payments through PVR web and app.”

Due to the cyber vulnerability in payment gateways, an upgraded security is the only way to safeguard millions of users’ data. PCI- DSS Certification provides a multi-level cyber safety and security system for all the online transactions that happen across PVR channels –website and app.

During the PCI DSS Certificate Handover Ceremony, Panacea Founder & CEO Ajay Kaushik said, “PVR’s commitment and maturity towards safeguarding customer’s data and payment related information is truly commendable. It is imperative for organizations to protect card data for its customers due to ever changing risky environment and we are extremely happy to assist PVR in their endeavors towards cyber security, information security and protection of customers’ payment information."
