Is 'Crazy Star' a Ravichandran biography?

Actor, director, producer, music director -- the list goes on for the jack of all trades, Ravichandran, who will now be seen directing and acting in 'Crazy Star', a film inspired by his own life. The actor, who has completed forty percent of shooting for the film, reveals that the film will shed some light on the ‘crazy side of the star’.“This movie will talk about Ravichandran and his life as a hero, director and husband,” he says.

The actor clarifies that 'Crazy Star' is not a remake of the Malayalam film, 'Traffic'. “I have just incorporated a small scene that involves a heart transplantation from the movie into my script. Since, this film was inspired by 'Traffic', I have also bought the rights. The film basically talks about me and also revolves around the media and audiences,” says the actor, adding, “People have been requesting me for a good flick for a long time now and hopefully, I will live up to their expectations,” declares Ravichandran.

'Crazy Star' will also see Priyanka Upendra alongside Ravichandran. “In reality, Priyanka is superstar Upendra’s wife. In this film,  she will don the role of crazy star’s wife. People complemented our pairing in 'Malla'. I can very confidently say that she will be one of the reasons for this film to taste success,” he adds.

The film will also introduce Ravichandran’s sons Manoranjan and Vikram. “Manoranjan is one of the producers of the film and will also don the assistant director’s cap for 'Crazy Star'. I want to launch him as an actor. But, before that I want him to master the technique and then face the camera. My second son, Vikram is eager to learn more about the technical side of cinema.

Crazy Star is quite upset with 'Manjina Hani' getting delayed. “I am disappointed because I could not keep my promise. I can’t give any more reasons for the delay. But it is taking a while. I wished to give something back to my people. And, that’s how the film, Crazy Star came about. I will bring out 'Manjina Hani' by January 14, next year, “ says Ravichandran.

He is probably the only actor and director, who doesn’t give any schedule or fixed dates to the artistes for shooting. “Basically the scene has to come into my head and based on that I select suitable actors or character roles accordingly. I just call them one or two days in advance and ask them to come over. Believe me, till date, I have always been supported by all of them and most of the artistes have shown keen interest and willingness to work with me,” he signs off.
