After the recent spat with Puneeth Rajkumar over some comments that he had made, Prasad, previously a distributor has announced that he will soon be turning producer. He has made the shift with the launch of his new production house and will be producing 'Anarkali' directed by Sadhu Kokila.

“I wanted to come out of distribution and start my own venture. Initially, I had plans to start with 'Chakravarthy, starring Duniya Vijay but he is quite busy with his current commitments. Meanwhile, I heard that Rakesh, and producer of 'Anarkali' wanted to sell his film. So, I took over from him,” he says.

Is 'Anarkali' a good launch for Prasad under Sammarth Ventures? “I was scouting for some good films and that’s when I came across 'Anarkali'. I watched the talky portions. The film has come out really good with Sadhu Kokila’s direction, which also has youngsters like Kitty, Ramya Bharana and Prajna. Presently, only the song shoot is pending. Now that I have entered the scene, I want to get the best locations for the songs and give it a rich look,” he said.

Prasad is happy to play this role. “Today nobody listens to the distributors though they take high risks in buying the film from the producers. Instead of spending money on the producers by taking the distribution rights, it is better that we produce our own films. I felt, there is more scope in being a producer,” he said.
