Another choreographer graduates to directing

Choreographer Imran Sardhariya is currently riding high after receiving a special award in Dubai for his work in the Kannada industry. “I was awarded the best sensational generation next Choreographer, which is a special award mainly for South. Nine people were awarded from this category and I was the only one from Karnataka,” he said.

The choreographer is now keen on taking the director’s chair with a script that he built while travelling long hours during his dance shoots. “When I used to travel abroad for shooting, I used to spend at least ten to twelve hours in the flight. This is the place where I started recollecting my life, which took the shape of an adventurous storyline,” he reveals.

Imran has the story ready and will be on the dialogues from next week. “K Manju was excited with my script and has come forward to produce the film, which will have V Harikrishna scoring the music and Satya Hedge will be the cameraman,” he says.

Taking himself to the next level, he wants to be known as a sensible director who could successfully change specialisations. Imran says,”We have good examples in Farah Khan, Prabhu Deva, Lawrence and more who were all initially choreographers and later turned as successful directors,” he said.

The star cast of the film has been already set and it will be a multi-starrer. “My film will have Diganth who has a romantic image, Yogi known for his mass appeal and Prajwal Devaraj, mostly noted as a stylish actor. All three are my friends and I am bringing them together for this adventurous film,” he said.

Anything to go on the lines of 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara'? “Just because, there are three heroes in an adventurous film, doesn’t mean that the movie is a remake of a Bollywood movie. Mine is an incidental subject and how adventurously the heroes think in their mind,” he says.

Currently, this new director is all geared with his pre-production work. “My priority will be direction but I will not stop choreography. If called by Appu sir (Puneeth Rajkumar), Yograj Bhat or director Suri, I will definitely adjust my dates for them. My plan is to start by September and I will be shooting the entire film in Bangalore as I want to show the garden city the way it is,” he concludes.
