Director Narayan to romance his passion again

S Narayan to wear the director’s cap again after being pressurised by senior actor Ambareesh and a few stalwarts from the industry

Kala Samrat, S Narayan who had given Kannadigas such hits like Chaitrada Premanjali, Suryavamsha, Shab-davedhi, Chandra Chakori, and who had bid adieu to direction after his film Munjaane tanked at the box office, is now returning back to the director’s chair.Talking  to City Express, about his come back, the director said, “I was working as a director as well as a producer for few films. I had even been involved in screenplay and writing cinema songs. But I never realised that during the process I had earned so many well-wishers from the industry. While forgetting the cinema field, I was somewhere hurting a lot of  my folks from cinema fraternity. That’s why I reconsidered to get back to direction.”

After the debacle of Munjaane the director had even concluded that the taste of the audience had changed and so it was better that he quit the industry. “I wanted to stand by my decision but it was senior actor, Ambareesh, who pressurised me to come back along with other eight to ten people in the industry who have been closely associated with me and respected me for my work. Somewhere I felt that I did not think about all these people when I took the decision. I felt that I should not hurt them. So I will be back behind the camera very soon,” he beams.

Now that Narayan is coming back after a break, will he make a change in his style of direction? “I will go by what people want from me. I would like to follow the current trend only to sync with the audience,” he said.

His first step after coming back will be to release his pending film, Appaya starring Srinagar Kitty and Bhama “I plan to release Appaya sometime in the month of July and only after that, I will think of my next project,” says Narayan, who might take up his most ambitious venture, Chowdaiah. “I haven’t thought about which film I should go with. Right now, only Appaya is on my mind,” he concludes.
