Radhika to star opposite century star?

The Gandhinagar grapevine has been abuzz with the news that the current leading actress, Radhika Pandit will soon be a part of Kaddipuddi opposite Hatrick hero, Shivarajkumar which will be directed by Soori. “It is too early to talk about Kaddipuddi as I am yet to sign the film,” she says.

If everything goes as per plan, she will be working for the first time with director Soori and Century star. But for the actress, she has never been overshadowed by star power.

“I have worked with everyone from star directors to actors. Despite all this, I have made a recognition for myself as the ‘Radhika Pandit’ that adds a lot of credit. From my first film, Moggina Manasu to working with a new director in Love Guru, I have won in my own way. I am not a piggy bag in any film as I have got my own identity. The banner and the script has made all the difference and the rest is an added bonus,” she says.

The actress has played a variety of roles in various films till date. “I have been lucky to play different roles including a college girl, a corporate in an IT company, a lower middle class girl in Krishnan Love Story and a journalist in Breaking News. I am not being monotonous in my characters and I try to do something refreshing and unique  in each and every film of mine,” she says. However, the directors are keen to repeat her in their films.

“I have worked with Nagathihalli Chandrashekar before. It is nice that they come to us with a trust that I can deliver. I have always been comfortable working with the director and have always felt that his writing was very strong. This film though it is a love story borders around journalism, something which I have never attempted before.”

Having taken up back to back films, Radhika wants to pay attention to every movie, she’s a part of.

“I always wanted to do one film at a time, which I have been maintaining right through my career. But at one point some schedule gets pushed inadvertently, which has happened to me recently. I had to juggle between three films, Sagar, Adhoori and Drama. I quite enjoyed being busy. It was a  challenging task. At the same time, the space between each movie is always good and right now, except for Drama, I don’t have any pending projects.”

Though, she is registered well in the industry, she is not in the number game. “As far as my films are liked by people, it works for me,” she says.

The actress is aware that as she’s climbing the success ladder, she is  bound to hear good and bad things about herself.

The recent rumour being  her link-up with a well known actor in Sandalwood. “I was mentally prepared by my parents that I should be able to take the positive and negative things written about me as a part of my job. As far as link ups are concerned, when it is called a rumour, it is not true and should be ignored. I am also aware of the few mischief mongers who love spreading wrong information,” she signs off.
