Upendra and Priyanka are both from a filmy background. And, getting into production was not an instant thought by Uppi’s wife. Announcing the new feat in her life, Priyanka says, “It was in the planning. Only that, we both got busy with our own work and films. It was taking time to establish one. Since we are already into television, this production house is set to roll on Upendra’s birthday. We have registered it as ‘Upendra Productions’."

Wives turning producers is not a new thing in the Kannada industry. “It is a part of the same work and a natural transition. Since, we both have worked in various fields of cinema, it is always easy for us to create and market it in a better way,” she says.

Priyanka wants her husband, Upendra to direct her first production venture. “Upendra has written the script, which needs some fine tuning. I am also writing a story. As of now, we have few more months to go. By the time, Uppi would have completed his pending projects. I have a film with Ravichandran, to be done and simultaneously, a TV project to complete. As we are done with our films, we will start work for our banner,” she concludes.
