Actor Harish Raj ties the knot with Shruthi Lokesh today. “It is a nice feeling. Most of my friends are married and my wedding was long overdue,” says Harish, adding, “I feel this is the best time for me to focus on my personal life. I also want to fulfil my mother’s wish to see me settled.”
We ask him about their love story and he says, “When I went home after finishing an on-screen romance, I felt lonely. That is when I met Shruti on a matrimonial site.”
On the eve of his wedding day, Harish says wooing a woman in real life is completely different from what is shown in movies. “I am dealing with reality right now. Initially, our parents did have a problem with us getting married as we belong to different castes. But we have managed to set our differences aside and make it happen. Since she is a lingayat and I am a raju kshatriya, we have purohits from both the castes performing the wedding rituals. This will be a new phase in my life,” says Harish.
Shruthi not being part of the film industry is an advantage, he further says. “She works with a company as a project manager. I find the things that happen in her office interesting, while she loves hearing about my shooting experiences. We have different things to talk about and it is wonderful. I have also told her that it is okay if she wants to stay at home after marriage, but she prefers to continue working. We will work things out slowly,” he explains.
Harish is also happy with his current career graph. “After Jai Lalitha, my next film is Power ***, in which I play the role of a cop along with Puneeth Rajkumar. I have worked with Shivanna in two films and this was my first time working with Puneeth. I had great fun. I am also part of Komal’s project, which is a remake of a Tamil film. This is a comedy-horror subject, a new genre in Kannada cinema. I thank god for all the good things happening in my life,” he signs off.
