Sridhar Wants to Spin Buguri with Love

BANGALORE: Ganesh’s Mungaru Male has retained its flavour even today, while it made the actor the industry’s Golden Star with number of good films to talk about. Today, Ganesh stands tall with his 25th film Buguri all set to start from June 7. The film is doubly special for the actor, as he will be working with director M D Sridhar for the third time after the hits Chellata and Krishna.

“I am nervous. Even though it is Ganesh’s 25th film and our third film together, I feel like it is my debut. It is mainly because Buguri will be the first film to be made under my home banner. My friend Gopal and I are investing in this movie and so, the responsibility is ours,” he says.

Interestingly, the story was written a long time back by the director for Ganesh and the actor even liked the script. “We were supposed to work on this movie after our combination worked in Chellata and Krishna. But both of us got busy with other commitments and we couldn’t take it further. However, we came up with the title only now. Seems like it was in Ganesh’s stars to do a film like Buguri at this time,” he says.

Sridhar wants to invest Buguri with love, which he says is an apt subject for Ganesh. “Youngsters take life easily and are interested in friendship and falling in love. On the other side, parents think about their studies and achievements. My story will talk about one such young character who can’t decide between love and success,” he explains further.

The director is particular about choosing the right leading lady for the film. “I prefer to have a Kannada heroine who will have two shades in my movie -- as a college goer and a mature girl. I am looking for an actress who can do justice to both the sides of the role,” he reveals.

Sridhar, known to be an organised director, has planned his locations and charted out his first shooting schedule. “We will be shooting in Bangalore, Mangalore and few other places in Karnataka. We will also shoot in a few foreign locations which are yet to be identified. Our first schedule will start soon and we will take a break in between and start shooting again in July. Right now, only Buguri is in my mind. I will not be working on anything else, because it is Ganesh’s 25th film,” says Sridhar, who leaves us with the hint that there will be no rain in Ganesh’s Buguri.

“Our second and the final schedules will be fixed according to the monsoon, as our sequences need to be shot without rain,” he says.
