Ramya is one actress who can never avoid the media. Be it as a heroine or as a politician.
The actress could not attend the audio release of Aryan because she was in Mumbai for a meditation workshop. She is now back in Bangalore and has started dubbing for Aryan. In between her schedule, she took time off to interact with the media, when she revealed that she would love to continue her tryst with politics while also doing films during her free time. Excerpts from a media conference...
Role in Aryan
I am very happy to be working in Aryan. I was an athlete in school and I always participated in sports. I am playing a sprinter in the film, which is interesting and I enjoyed shooting because I was running a lot! And of course, my on-screen chemistry with Shivanna has worked out well.
Dubbing for the film
My Kannada has improved a lot after having made so many speeches in the local language during my political campaigns. And now, I am dubbing for Aryan with full confidence.
On director Gurudutt
Chi Gurudutt, who took over Aryan after D Rajendra Babu’s death, has handled the film very well. What is great about Gurudutt is that though he took on the film after Babu’s demise, he has not taken credit for it. He feels Aryan belongs to Rajendra Babu. That is pretty great.
On Geetha Shivarajkumar
I was told by Geetha Shivarajkumar that it is the first time that a shoot has been designed around a heroine’s dates! They allowed me to shoot the film according to my convenience when I was busy juggling politics and films. I never felt stressed while shooting for Aryan.
Politics and films
I still have a lot to do in politics. I lost the Lok Sabha seat by just 5,000 votes. That says how much people have liked me. I have not left politics, but now I have time to do films, which I will focus on during my free time.
On Dodmane Hudga
I am yet to get the script, but I would love to work with Puneeth Rajkumar. We both worked together in Appu and Akash, and if Dodmane... happens, it will be great. I got to know about director Suri through Yogaraj Bhat, with whom I worked in Ranga SSLC. I know Suri is a good director and I have liked his work. And if everything falls in place, it will be a good opportunity to work with the director.
On Neer Dose
The matter is in the court but I have explained my take on the film. I have no problems working in Neer Dose, provided they want me. They can also choose any other actress if they please. I am okay with whatever decision the filmmakers take.
On Aryan Cricket Cup
We are planning to arrange a cricket match between the Aryan team and the media sometime next week. This will help in bringing the filmmakers and members of the media together.
