When Ravi Verma set out to do something big, his producers Jayanna and Bogendra decided to not do the math. After the success of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali, there is a positive air in the film industry and makers are confident that a film with a great script and visually appealing sequences is what the audience needs. And if all goes well, for the first time Sandalwood will raise its bar in terms of budget as well as the star cast.
Two of the most popular brands of Sandalwood, Shivarajkumar and Puneeth Rajkumar, will share the screen in Ravi Verma’s directorial debut. According to sources, the director has roped in Hollywood technicians and around four to five Hollywood actors, making it a project that may be way beyond being labelled ambitious.
Even though the director is silently working on the script, for all obvious reasons, the project is creating enough buzz already, especially because of the casting of the two brothers. The muhurath is planned for January or February next year.
According to sources, the film’s budget might cross `40 crore and lending substance to the overall grandeur of the film, will be its historical references. “The technicians being hired to do the computer graphics. The makers are planning a visual treat, which has become important in today’s cinema,” the source reveals. The film will also have a huge star cast from South India and the makers are already approaching them for their dates. “If everything goes well, the film will start by next year and will be completed during a 200-day schedule,” says the source.
