Fans Brace for The Third Gen Rajkumar

With Kannada film Siddhartha’s release date around the corner, the excitement in the Rajkumar family seems to be rising as everyone prepares to see the third-generation of the Rajkumar family Vinay Rajkumar on screen. The film produced by Parvathamma Rajkumar under Sri Poornima Enterprises, is releasing in around 100 theatres across Karnataka with Kapali as the main theatre in Bengaluru. Apparently, the last film that released in Kapali under the Sri Poornima Enterprises banner was 15 years ago and it was Shabdavedi starring Dr Rajkumar. Thus, this theatre also has a special significance for the family.

While the film directed by Prakash Jayaram has already created enough buzz, Vinay’s doting father is also equally enthusiastic about his son’s debut. “At present, I am as excited as my son Vinay. It feels like a return  to the same intensity and buzz that used to abound before my father’s films would release. Every Indian parent finds pleasure in doing all they can for their children. Even when we visit temples, we always ask God to bless our children. And that is exactly what I am doing for my son Vinay,” he says.

It seems that a song in the film will see Vinay parents and brother sharing screen space with him and it will be revealed on the day of the release.

Raghavendra Rajkumar, who has watched the film, has lauded his son’s performance. “According to me, Vinay has done justice to his role and is seen in the context of the story rather than being the hero and taking up all the screen time. My father used to tell us that our character should blend with the story and we should not go above the script, which I saw in Vinay’s role,” he says.

Vinay took some time off from his promotional activities and quickly made a short visit to Tirupati to seek Lord Venkateshwara’s blessings. “We will be visiting Singanallur, where we will pray at our ancestors’ temple. In fact, a few scenes in the song Akashave...have been shot near this temple,” says Raghavendra Rajkumar. If everything goes as per plans, the entire Rajkumar family will be at Kapali theatre this Friday to watch Siddhartha.  “We want to watch the film with our people and get to know the audience and their reaction,” he says.
