The yet unfinished Namagagi, Radhika’s last film, stars Vijay Raghavendra and is directed by D P Raghuram. Though there have been rumours that it is based on her life, the truth will reveal itself only when the film releases.
On the status of the film the director says, “The film started off as a production of Chowdeshwari Cine Combines with Venugopal, a realtor, financing it. We completed 50 per cent of shoot by April. However, things got delayed when the production house could not fund us due to financial constraints as they gave priority to their real estate business. I recently shared the problem with Radhika and her brother. Since Radhika is attached to the subject because it is based on a husband-wife relationship, they have agreed to take over the project under their banner Shamika Enterprises.” As of now, everything is confirmed orally and documentation is in the process. “Radhika will soon be back in Bengaluru and everything will be finalised. Till then I can’t make an official announcement. If everything goes as planned, we will need to shoot for 18 to 20 days more, mostly outside the country,” adds Raghuram.
According to director, another reason Radhika wants to see the project to completion is because she is keen on dubbing for the film in her own voice.
“Keerthi has been giving her voice to all of Radhika’s films. This was the first time I thought she should dub for the film. She had agreed and I look forward to hearing from her on this matter,” he says.
