Poonam Pandey, described by some as an 'obsessive compulsive stripper,' is now active in tinsel town.  After a Hindi film, followed by one in Telugu, she is now getting a big role in Sandalwood.

Earlier seen in an item number in the Kannada film

Love is Poison, she will now be seen in a fullfleged role.

This is also Yuvaraj's first film in Kannada as director. He has already worked in the Telugu and Tamil industries. Poonam is in town today along with the director and the crew.

"We wanted somebody fresh. Since she has not done any full-fledged role in Kannada, we thought this film will be a good launch pad for her," says Yuvaraj,

"It is a horror thriller with a touch of romance. It will be a challenge for Poonam to explore her acting capabilities," he explains.

The director says the film will keep in mind what the audience wants to see from Poonam.

"She is ready to take up any character, and goes by the script. She will seen doing some bold scenes in the film," he says. The film shoot will take place mostly in Bengaluru.

Poonam is being paid a bomb for this film, according to industry sources. "It is about Rs 1 crore," he told City Express.

The director is not getting into production details. "I am more focused on my script than on getting to know Poonam is paid. That is the producer's call. He knows best," he says.

Yuvraj says his objective is to come out with with "a good entertainer."

The film is heroine-centric,  and stars three young actors in the lead.

"As of now, we have roped in Rajeev Rathod from Bengaluru. A few more actors will join the cast," says Yuvraj.

The film is being produced under the banner of Nine Star Entertainment.
