Rachita's Chakravyuha

Rachita Ram is like the eagle that sheds a feather because it knows it is growing a new and better one. In a short span of time, she has shed her image to with a careful eye on the way her characters have been accepted by the audience. So, right from the soap opera Arasi to her film debut in 2013 with Bulbul followed by Dil Rangeela, Ambareesha, Ranna and Rathavara she has created an enviable niche for herself. And now with Chakravyuha, she seems to be sealing the fact that there is no sign of insecurity that is perceived to surround actors.

With the film releasing this week, Rachita talks to City Express about her role and the experience of working with Puneeth Rajkumar and associating with good technicians.

"To be honest, Chakravyuha was the right film for me to work with Puneeth. More so, this is a technician’s film," she notes and makes a special mention of director Saravanan. "He can be a small example of how a director can rule anywhere irrespective of language, provided he hones good skills. Right through the film, He was very focused," she says.

Citing an example of Saravanan's professionalism, Rachita says, "During the climax of Chakravyuha, I twisted my elbow and couldn't go for the shoot. In fact, I told them to have a dupe and complete it, but he was reluctant and said he would wait and shoot the scenes with me. I have never seen him compromising on anything and he was ready to wait for days or even a month and made sure it happened. Credit should also go to music director SS Thaman and cinematographer Shanmuga Sundaram,' she says.

Recalling the day when she bagged the film opposite Puneeth, Rachita says it was because of the producer NK Lohith and Nehaneesh Ravikumar, who gave her the opportunity. "Working with a big star is always a learning process. His presence itself creates a good atmosphere on the sets and that helped enhance my character. He allowed me to improvise," she points out and asserts that she is looking forward to working with him again. "There is a lot to learn actors I work with, and I would like to do a few more films with each of them. It will definitely help me to perfect the art of acting," she says.

The actress reveals that while she plays a homely girl, it is the songs that will up her glam quotient.  "It was necessary because it is a commercial film and I had to balance the character with my glamorous side too, which is mostly in songs. I had a few costumes coming from London, designed by Lohith's sister Divya, while Archana did  a few other costumes. They look cute, hot and glamorous," she says.

Sadhu Kokila, Bhavya, Abhimanyu Singh and Rangayana Raghu are among the ensemble star cast of Chakravyuha.
