Deepa Sannidhi’s character has an ironic ring infilm directed by Chintan. The first look sees her in a retro mood
Shanti in Chakravarthy's life

The team of Darshan-starrer Chakravarthy wrapped up their first schedule with lead actress Deepa Sannidhi and Srujan Lokesh in Mysuru. The first look of Deepa, revealed by the makers, has the actress clad in a saree, which will be the costume she will don in the whole film. Her retro look for Chakravarthy, replete with elements such as the vintage phone, supports a theme set in the 1980s. Commenting on the first look, director Chintan says, “She is Shanti, the character in our film.”

It seems the director has brought in an element of irony with the name Shanti, which means peace, considering the film is based on the violent underworld of the eighties.

According to Deepa, it is a new subject for her and the character Shanti brings in the family backdrop to the underworld subject.

“The romance brought out in this film is also very new for me and I guess even for Darshan. The chemistry that I share with him is the crucial part and it has an emotional drive, which made the role even more interesting for me. This is just the start of my journey with Chakravarthy and there is more to come,” she says.

Currently, the team is in Hyderabad on a location hunt. “We are yet to zero in on some good locations before we start our second schedule in  July and that’s when we will have Dinakar, who is playing the antagonist, and Aditya joining the team,” Chintan reveals.

Chakravarthy is produced by Anaji Nagaraj and Siddharth and has HC Venu as the cameraperson and Arjun Janya as its music director.
