Puneeth Rajkumar to act and produce his next with Shashank

Director will be teaming up with the star for the first time; project to take off in January 2018

As an actor, Puneeth Rajkumar has always tried to do better with each film. Having achieved what he had set out to do, to be a dependable actor, he is now set his eyes on production. Over the years, Puneeth has gained an in-depth understanding of cinema and is confident that, with the right director, he can see box-office success.

The actor who is planning to produce movies under PRK banner has been on the lookout for the right script and the perfect director, and it seems the wait is over.

Shashank Thalya, the director known for Sixer, Moggina Manasu, Krishnan Love Story, Bachchan and Krishna Leela and Mungaru Male 2, seems to be the chosen one.

The director will be helming a project that will be produced by Puneeth Rajkumar, and the actor will also play the lead in it. According to sources, the two are coming together for a film that will be the first to go on floors in 2018.

“While, he has invested in other projects that features other heroes, this will be the first film he will star in and produce,” our source informs.

Although the filmmakers remain tight-lipped, sources reveal that they are planning a big announcement at the right time.

“Puneeth is currently busy with Anjaniputra, followed by a film directed by Vetrimaran, made under Rockline Production. After wrapping them up, he will start on Shashank’s project,” says our source. Puneeth Rajkumar is also producing Hemanth M Rao’s upcoming film Kavalu Daari.
