Love and longing for Raajakumara

The first song from Puneeth Rajkumar-starrer Raajakumara has become a sensation. The song sung by Devi Sri Prasad and composed by V Harikrishna has touched more than  8 lakhs hits in a week. Now the makers have decided to release the album along with the trailer. Audience, especially Puneeth’s fans, wait in anticipation.

Moreover, the film bears the legend Rajkumar’s name adding to people’s excitement. According to the music director, this album is special because most of the songs go with the storyline.

City Express learnt that a song from the album will recall another from the classic Kasturi Nivasa starring Rajkumar.  Santhosh Ananddramm has penned the lyrics for the to be sung by a noted singer.  Though the other songs promise to be completely a different, we hear that anyone who listens to this particular track will recall Aadisi Nodu.., from the black and white era, and the feeling it evoked.

This track, which will elaborate on the hero’s character, will be one of the highlights of the album and the makers are keeping it for a surprise. The other tracks are sung by Shashank Shesagiri, Santhosh, Venki, Priya Himesh and Sonu Nigam.

Music director Harikrishna says, “From the opening song, every song in the album goes with the story. Director Santhosh Ananddramm was insistent about this and anyone can see that once they watch the video and the film,” says Harikrishna, who adds that the film’s music or the story has nothing to do with the legend. “Maybe you will find a few of his mannerisms along the way”.

According to executive producer, Karthik Gowda of  Hombale Films, the trailer of Raajakumara will give a sneak peak into the core of the movie. “With the title like Raajakumara, the movie is bound to cause assumptions about its content, but this trailer will make everything clear. It is a family entertainer, and a glimpse of that will be seen in the trailer,” he says.

The music album promises to have a combination of everything, from soft melodies and love songs to mass numbers and tapunguchi. “Three songs from the album have been written by Santhosh Ananddram and two other by Yogaraj Bhat and Ghouse Peer.”

The film, with Puneeth Rajkumar in the lead, also marks the Sandalwood debut of Priya Anand. The film also features an ensemble cast including Ananth Nag, Sharath Kumar, Prakash Raj, Venkatesh Angura has done the cinematography.
The film is now in the last leg of post production and is slated for release on March 24, around Ugadi.
