RChandru’s next, Kanaka, with Duniya Vijay in the lead, is currently rolling.  And going by the first look of the actor, which was recently revealed, he will be playing the role of an auto driver who is a fan of Dr Rajkumar. According to Chandru, the romantic film draws inspiration from real life.

Duniya Vijay

“I met the auto driver in Bengaluru. He is uneducated and and has grown up watching Dr Rajkumar’s films. For him, the legend’s films are like an institution.

He told me that he had even left eating food for days after annavaru’s death.

His only motive now is to serve the society and follow Dr Rajkumar’s principles,” explains Chandru.

The director also reveals that the auto driver had a beautiful love story, which he picked up and developed in the film according to cinematic needs.

“I took up this realistic story to get connected with the audience. I have made money making commercial films.

But when I meet people, they keep telling me that they enjoy realistic stories made by me like Taj Mahal, Charminar, and Mylari. And Kanaka fits in that league,” he says.
