Maasti Gudi has been given a U/A certificate by the Censor Board. And if the filmmakers manage to release it on the day they had planned, on May 12, it only calls for a double celebration for actress Amulya, who is also tying the knot on the same date.
The actress has been paired opposite Duniya Vijay in the film that also features Kriti Kharbanda.
Amulya is tying the knot with Jagadish R Chandra, an MBA graduate from London and the son of a former corporator.
The actress, who has just thrown her bacheloratte party, is now busy inviting family and friends for her special day. “My focus is now on my personal life,” she says, “and in fact the filmmakers stopped contacting me after I got engaged. If I had a few months of free time, I would have done everything to promote the film. However destiny has it that my wedding date coincides with the day of the film’s release. Maasti Gudi will be special because it will be the one film released before I get to be the wife of Jagadish R Chandra.”
Amulya says she plays a traditional girl in Maasti Gudi, a role she believes the audience loves to see her in. “My character is so interesting that people will not forget her for a long time,” she says. “Even I am waiting for it to release and I will definitely get updates on the audience feedback at the wedding hall,” she adds
With her wedding nearing, Amulya says, “I am so busy visiting people and inviting them for the wedding that I have little time to think anything else.”
Amulya who debuted as a child artiste with Parva, in 2001, acted in over 10 movies before she played the heroine in Cheluvina Chittara, a film that featured her opposite Ganesh. The actress has worked in more than 20 films and is known for her roles in Chaitrada Chandramma, Naanu Nanna Kanasu, Gajakesari and Shravani Subramanya among others.
