Sruthi Hariharan has always been drawn to good stories, and getting to work with able directors is an added bonus. The young actress has landed yet another interesting project to be helmed by KM Chaitanya.
This yet-to-be-titled thriller has her paired opposite Chiranjeevi Sarja for the first time. While Sruthi will be travelling abroad on May 25, to join the sets of Tarak, she will be back to be part of Humble Politician Nograj’s next schedule. After work in this Danish Sait-starrer is done, Sruthi will go to Chaitanya’s sets by July end.
Sruthi says that she is looking forward to working with Chaitanya. “I have been asked to stay tightlipped about my role because the director wants to share the details from his end... but I will say that this is definitely a different role for me,” she says.
Chaitanya was her senior in Christ College, and she says that she has been following his work for few years now. Sruthi believes that the director of Aa Dingalu and Aatagara makes films that do not follow the conventional route. “That’s what I love about him,” she says. “I like the way he picks subjects and, even though his films take inspiration from other films, they ultimately take a life of their own. One good example was his last outing Aatagara.”
We also hear that she is also part of Tarakasura, which stars a newbie. But Sruthi categorically denies it: “No. I am not part of that project.”
She is now looking forward to the release of Vismya, which is also releasing as Nibunan in Tamil. “The Last Kannadiga, my debut venture as a producer, is almost done and I should be able to release it by mid June,” she says. The actress also has Upendra Matte Hutti - Inti Prema in her kitty, now in post-production.
