No politics please,Uppi to return to trademark entertainers

Rumours had said that Upendra’s 50th film will be a political drama, but we now learn that it will be an out-an-out commercial flick like A and Upendra

Upendra is back from his hideout in Chikkamagaluru where he was busy scripting his 50th film. The actor will be participating in a patchwork shoot of his upcoming film Upendra Matte Hutti Ba.. Inti Prema this coming Monday and Tuesday, says producer Sriram, who plans to release the movie in  August.

They will be going back to the hill station to work on the script and there will be one more round of discussions, after which the actor  wants to start off with the next schedule of Uppi Rupee.

Upendra is hoping to launch his directorial project on September 18, on his birthday, provided he completes the script work by then. If so, it calls for twice the celebration because he will also be celebrating his 50th birthday this year.

While Uppi has been away, scripting the movie, there have been rumours about what the story will be about. Some say that Upendra was inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his initiatives such as demonetisaion and Swacch Bharath among other schemes. But, that is not the case. Apparently, Upendra is on a different trip and this time he going for an out-an-out commercial flick, and it will be made on a lavish scale.

Sriram, who has been accompanying Uppi on his script-writing trips, says,“He is getting back to his trademark films like A and Upendra and thus giving a break to politics  and philosophy. I can’t go into the details but the movie will be a commercial flick.”

“People have been watching a lot of politics everyday and I am sure they will not be interested to watch it again on big screen. In fact Chief Minister Omar Abbullah, who happened to catch a glimpse of Super,  felt that such a film should go to the Oscars and it was a political satire. But how many times can Uppi talk about politics. How long can it remain an interesting material. This film will definitely be catering to the masses and will be a total entertainer,” he says.
