With her striking looks and charismatic personality, the doe-eyed beauty Celin not only allured the heart of George in Premam but enticed the audience as well.
Meet Madonna Sebastian, who essayed with elan the role of Celin in the Alphonse Putharen’s blockbuster, who will now playing the lead lady in the upcoming Siddique-Lal film. She will also make her Kollywood debut soon.
In the Siddique-Lal film titled King Liar, Madonna will be seen opposite Dileep.
“It was the film’s producer Ouseppachan sir, who selected me for the role. Later, I met Lal sir and spoke to Siddique sir. The movie has already made lot of buzz as the comeback movie of the superhit director duos, and I am super excited to be called in to work with them and Dileep. I couldn’t have asked for more,” says Madonna.
As per industry reports, she will be playing Anjali, a zealous IT professional in King Liar.
The Kolenchery girl has recently wrapped the shoot of her Tamil debut film. She will be romancing Vijay Sethupathi in Soodhu Kavvum fame director Nalan Kumarasamy’s next venture. Quiz her about the experience, she says, “It was Premam’s sound designer Vishnu Govind who suggested me to Nalan. Unlike Nalan’s previous outing, this film will be a rom-com. I can’t speak much about my role but it will not be the same as Celin.”
Quiz about working in another industry, Madonna says, “Like Premam’s team, working with Nalan was also a joyful experience. People are really nice and sweet. He is a sensible director and working with his team was a new experience. Initially, I had difficulty in speaking Tamil, so used to memorise the dialogues, but later I picked up.”
Madonna who never expected to be an actor, says, “Basically I am into singing and had done shows for various television channels. So it might be from the shows that Alphonse might have spotted me. And one fine day, he called up and asked to meet in Fort Kochi. So along with my Dad and sister, we met him where he briefed me about the role of Celin. I liked it and agreed to do it. The same day the shoot began.”
Madonna was cool with her first acting stint because there was no time for the panic to sink in. “I had only 20 days of shoot and everything was happening so fast, that I didn’t get time to panic,” says Madonna who is currently listening to scripts in both Kollywood and Mollywood.
Madonna is however determined not to lose track of her singing and currently is in the prep works of bringing out a album along with her music team comprising of music directors and instrumentalists. “Music has always been part of my life and right from childhood I used to sing and am trained both in Carnatic and Western. Our team has already completed couple of songs. The songs with prominence given to instrumental music done in a rock ambience will be coming up live by the end of the year,” signs off Madonna.
