KOCHI: Approximately Rs 60 crore is riding on actor Dileep’s finished and unfinished projects in 2017. The police on Monday confirmed the actor’s arrest for his alleged involvement in the conspiracy that resulted in the actor abduction that shook Mollywood in February this year.  On the floor are three films in which Dileep has acted. Right now he is shooting for ‘Kammarasambhavam,’ directed by debutant Ratheesh Ambatt. The actor appeared before the police from the sets of the movie, the final schedule of which was progressing at Theni. He plays the role of Kammaran in the movie.

The Rs 20-crore movie is being produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Sree Gokulam Films. Tamil actor Sidharth is also enacting a major role in this movie which is expected to hit theatres by November 2017.

‘Professor Dinkan’ another big budget movie

On the floor now is debutant Arun Gopy’s ‘Ramaleela.’ It is a political thriller written by Sachi. Prayaga Martin is playing the female lead in this movie. ‘Ramaleela’ is Tomichan Mulakuppadam’s new production venture after the highly successful ‘Pulimurugan.’ Mulakuppadam Films have already pumped in Rs 15 crore for the movie which was earlier slated for a Ramzan release. The post-production works of the movie have been completed and now the release has been postponed. Another big budget movie which is on cards is ‘Professor Dinkan,’ a 3D movie, which is the directorial debut of cinematographer Ramachandrababu.

Dileep was slated to play the role of a sorcerer in this movie which will be one of the most expensive productions in the history of Malayalam cinema. The screenplay is by director Rafi and produced by Sanal Thottam under the banner of New TV. The actor has also committed for some other projects, including Nadirshah’s untitled movie and Speed Track fame Jayasurya’s suspense thriller.

However, with Nadirshah also getting allegedly involved in the case, the project is yet to materialise.
It is also reported that Dileep will be seen in Vineeth Sreenivasan’s next movie, which the actor/director has not confirmed yet. In 2017, the actor had only one major release - ‘Georgettan’s Pooram,’ which hit screens during Vishu.

The film, however, failed at the box office.
