Qarib Qarib Singlle star Parvathy wins Best Actress at IFFI 2017 for Malayalam film 'Take Off'

Acclaimed South Indian actress Parvathy won the 'Silver Peacock for the Best Actress' award for her performance in the Malayalam movie 'Take Off', at the prestigious International Film Festival of India (IFFI) which ended in Goa today.

'Take Off' is based on the lives of Indian nurses in the city of Tikrit, Iraq. Its maker Mahesh Narayanan won the award for Best Director at IFFI.

'Take Off' narrates the story of Sameera and her friends who are held as hostages by terrorists, and Indian ambassador Manoj rescues them.

The film was directed by Mahesh Narayan and also stars Divya Prabha, Fahadh Faasil, and Rukhsar.

Parvathy is also known for her recent Hindi movie 'Qarib Qarib Singlle' with Irfan Khan, and her 2015 Malayalam film 'Charlie' with Dulquer Salmaan.
