I V Sasi... we will miss you sir: Mollywood grieve their loss

As the news of IV Sasi's death came out, the entire Malayalam film fraternity expressed their condolence on the demise of the legendary director.

Known for technical brilliance and stylish making, I V Sasi's works brought in the mass to the theatres, earning him the tag of showman of Malayalam cinema.

KOCHI: Legendary Malayalam filmmaker I V Sasi passed away in Chennai on Tuesday where he was undergoing treatment. He was 69 and is survived by wife Seema, son Ani and daughter Anu.

As the news of his death came out, the entire Malayalam film fraternity expressed their condolence on the demise of the legendary director.

While Mammootty said, “The departure of this dear man weakens me.” Mohanlal said, “A great artist who celebrated the life of common man on screen, he is the master who made the cinema artists including me and the viewers, students of cinema. Respect to my dear sir.”

“My friend for  45 years  I.V.Sasi is no more. The industry & I mourn a great technician. My support & love to my sister Seema Sasi & family,” Kamal Hassan wrote.

“The man who rewrote the course of mainstream Malayalam cinema I V Sasi is no more. We have been discussing a film together, it’s my personal loss!” said Resul Pookutty
