'Sagar' (Kannada)

Director: MD Sridhar

Cast: Prajwal Devaraj, Haripriya, Sanjjanaa

'Sagar' is an attempt to repeat the success of 'Addhuri' as this film too satisfies the targeted audience. Director MD Sridhar's creativity keeps the cinema hall engaged with scenes and situations which are quite refreshing.

Prajwal Devaraj's fans will fall in love with the film, which effectively will help to pull the masses.

Characterisations are pretty unique with the presence of three girls -- Radhika Pandit, Haripriya and Sanjjanaa which will sit well with the younger audiences.

The director focuses on complete family entertainment, action and love throughout the film. The family drama starts with Sagar (Prajwal Devaraj), an NRI from Australia, who comes from a joint family.

To live up to his family tradition, he agrees to marry his relative Priyanka (Haripriya), a girl chosen by his parents. But being friends for 20 years, both realise that they don't have any feelings for each other.

Sagar shares his problem with Jennifer (Sanjjanaa) who gives him an idea. She sends her friend Kajal's (Radhika Pandit) picture to him to wrongly portray her as his lover only to create confusion within the family.

But to Sagar's surprise, Kajal makes an entry into the family. What happens to Jenny? Will Priyanka or Kajal get Sagar? Only time will tell.

Prajwal Devaraj is superb and has shouldered the film throughout. We definitely see an improvement from his previous acting skills with his expressions and comic scenes being up to the mark. His dances and action sequences are the highlight of the film.

Radhika Pandit is a good actress and she has proved her mettle yet again. Even Haripriya shows glimpses of brilliant performances throughout the film. Sanjjanaa doesn't have much scope but has a limited range of expressions.

Dev Gill of 'Magadheera' fame is just okay.

Avinash and Vinaya Prasad have given decent performances. The comical element has worked well whenever it has appeared. With a star cast consisting of well known actors, the film has done quite well. Gurukiran has done a decent job with remixes and peppy songs.

Dialogues were well written.

Cinematography by Krishna Kumar is an asset to the movie.
