'Clash with Kochadaiiyaan is coincidental'

With the release of Rajinikanth’s film Kochadaiiyaan being postponed from May 9 to May 23, we expected to see a lot of films slated to come around at the same time rearranging their release dates. However, the makers of Gajakesari, starring Yash and Amulya, have fixed their release for the same day.

Cinematographer turned director S Krishna confirms the release. “We were supposed to release the film on May 16, but it was pushed further because of last minute technical work,” says

Krishna, who is fine with competing with the super stars’s film. “I am too small to talk about Rajinikanth’s film, but I guess it is coincidence and not competition. But we are confident about our film and its content. We have put in one-and-a-half years of effort for this film and we will not lose our audience because of Kochadaiiyaan. In fact, people are eagerly waiting for our movie and we are bombarded with queries as to when the film is releasing. Our producers are clear about it and we will release the film on the mentioned date. People like variety and our film is completely different compared to Kochadaiiyaan. So it will be a double dhamaka,” he says.
