Renowned stuntmaster Jaguar Thangam is a name to reckon with in Kollywood.

He has tutored many an action hero to fight, punch and kick his way into the audience’s hearts! But now it’s the turn of his son Vijaychiranjeevi to punch in his way into tinseltown, courtesy his dad who has turned director as well. The film under the JVR Movie Makers banner is titled Surya- One Man Army and will be releasing on December 12.

Talking to the media, Jaguar Thangam discloses more details, “There are 11 fights in this film and my son has done several difficult and never seen before stunts. The trailors in the theatres are drawing whistles and claps.

In one scene he has stood with his legs spread wide between two coconut trees.” So how did Surya do all these difficult stunts? Apparently he is a 4th degree black belt in Karate and has been training in martial arts since he was five years old.

The boy has performed a particular stunt that could have almost killed him. Recalls Jaguar Thangam, “He was required to be lowered into a 40 feet deep pit for a particular stunt. Someone came along and shouted that it was dangerous. Apparently the pit had some dangerous gases inside that could have killed him. We pulled him up immediately and he revealed he had held his breath and done the stunt. The yoga he has been practicing helped him do this and saved his life that day. A chicken we threw in later died immediately.” The music in Surya is by Jerome Pasupathyraj and director Perarasu has also done a role in the film. Bose Venkat, Ponambulam, Keerthi Chawla, Neepa and Vijaykumar are part of the cast.

Jaguar’s next film project is which he says, will deal with the terrorist problem.

In the meantime, he is gearing up for the release of Surya which will supposedly showcase Vijaychiranjeevi as the Indian answer to Jackie Chan, Jet Li and Bruce Lee.
