HYDERABAD: Noted cinematographer VSR Swamy died last night at Machilipatnam following a cardiac arrest. He was 70 and was survived by son Aravind. His body was flown to Chennai where his final rites would be held on Wednesday morning, according to his family members.

Swamy had been synonymous to many technical innovations in Tollywood. His first film as cinematographer was ‘Asadhyudu’ and last film ‘Lakshmi Narasimha’. He worked as cinematographer for over 100 films including, ‘Alluri Seetharamaraju’, ‘Bhakta Tukaram’, ‘Mosagallaki Mosagadu’, ‘Bhakta Kannappa’, ‘Siri Siri Muvva’, ‘Simhasanam’, ‘Khaidi’ and ‘Indra’. Condoling the death of VSR Swamy PRP president Chiranjeevi said Swamy was endowed with rich technical expertise.
