Its been a hectic week for actor Karthi shuttling between promotions for his Alex Pandian and shooting for the upcoming Biriyani for Venkat Prabhu. But its also been a life changing week, since the young actor just turned dad for the first time with the birth of a baby girl.
City Express managed to catch up him in an ecstatic mood during one short break where he spoke about the new entrant into his life. He tries to verbalise the experience for us, “Being a dad is an indescribable feeling! When I am with the baby, its like being in an oasis of tranquility. Its something that changes you overnight.”
He is thrilled that the infant has begun to recognise his voice. “When she smiles at me, it has a magnetic effect!” he gushes.
While his days are filled with shooting schedules, he has made some new adjustments to be a better dad. “Of course your priorities do change when you have a baby. Now, I make sure I am home to spend time with my wife and child. When I am shooting outdoors, I plan to take off one day a week to spend time with them.”
Right now, learning to change diapers is on top of his list of things to learn soon. “I feel bad for Ranjini, who hardly gets much sleep both during the night and day. So I do what little I can by waking up at night and keeping her company when the baby awakens. So what advice did brother Suriya give him? “Suriya told me to make sure I spent more time at home,” he smiles. And as of now, arriving at the perfect name for the little one is on top of his mind.
