Karthika returns in Apsaras

Ko heroine Karthika will soon be seen in Tamil films like Deal with actor Arun Vijay and Annakodi directed by Bharathiraja. But there is another film, which she is looking forward to as well. The movie is from Mollywood and  is releasing in Tamil now titled Apsaras. Karthika pairs with award-winning cinematographer-turned-hero Santhosh Sivan in this flick.

The movie, titled Makaramanju in Malayalam, marked Karthika’s debut  in Mollywood. It went on to  receive several awards including the best film award at the International Film Festival of Kerala. Now, Tamil audiences will get to see the  real life story of King Ravi Verma come alive on screen. Sivan plays the king, who was a talented painter, and Karthika plays his pair. The film also has actors Poorna and Nithya Menon.

Santhosh Sivan, who debuted as hero in the film, is well known as the director of the National Award-winning film, The Terrorist, and Urumi, which got rave reviews as well. He has been lauded for his camerawork in films like Roja and the latest, actor Vijay’s Thuppakki as well.  Apsaras is directed by Lenin Rajendran. The camerawork is by Madhu Ambat.
