We Really put the Director Through a lot, Shares Udhayanidhi Stalin
The sets of Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal would have been a complete riot, acording to Udhayanidhi Stalin. With Santhanam on one side and Nayanthara on the other, one can hazard a guess as to the amount of fun they would have had on sets.
Udhayanidhi concurs. In fact, he starts laughing the moment you mention this to him. “Oh it was so much fun,” he says. “It was not so much that we played pranks on each other, but the whole atmosphere was such that we’d start laughing in between takes. It’ll be very easy to set us off. I would have just stopped laughing but Nayanthara would take one look at my face and she’d start laughing,” he says.
All this good cheer meant that the camera would be rolling endlessly. “Yes, the director, R Prabhakaran, would get really vexed. He’d come after us, asking us to finish our scenes. We put him through a lot,” says the actor cheerfully.
The movie, which is all set to release on February 14, has Udhayanidhi playing the role of a Hanuman devotee. “He hates women and is really scared of his father. That’s when Nayanthara’s character walks into his life,” says the actor adding that the movie had no unnecessary glamour, innuendos or fight scenes. “It’s a complete family entertainer.”
Udhayanidhi also adds that it was great to work with Nayanthara. “We’re working together in Nanbenda too. I’m really looking forward to doing that movie,” he says. The movie, whose music was composed by Harris Jayaraj, is set to release in more than 300 screens across the city.
