Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is known for keeping his conversations short and crisp. That’s precisely what the Singh is King actor did this Wednesday. Akshay was present at the launch of the first look of Big Deal TV, Tamil Nadu’s first celebrity-driven home shopping channel, held at Sathyam Cinemas. He will soon be seen in movies Brother and Singh is Bling this year, endorsed it.  He said the channel was quality-driven and added that in sync with its name, the channel indeed offered big deals to the general public, keeping the latter’s convenience in mind. “It’s good to know that the channel is being launched in Tamil, after its triumphant launch in Hindi,” he said.

The Big Deal TV, which will go on air on June 18 and available in all major cable and DTH platforms across Tamil Nadu, combines focused multi-channel sales with integrated marketing, media and distribution through the power of well-known Indian celebrities.

The event also saw the presence of businessman Raj Kundra, who is also the founder of Best Deal TV Group Companies, and actor Vikram, co-owner and brand ambassador, of the group. Kundra expressed his pleasure in launching the channel in another language after just six months of its initial launch in Hindi.

He added that the stars in South were appreciated at a completely different level, but maintained that the channel would not only use star appeal to attract customers.  “The focus on quality,” he said, adding that the channel would promote products that stand out from the crowd and offer great value at the same time.

Vikram said that he would be launching his range of products on the channel as well, all of which were under development.  Gaurav Garg , co-owner and CEO Big Deal TV, who was present  explained that the channel was ommitted towards offering value to its customers at a price ranging between `999 and `8,999.

“Customer delight is our prime aphorism hence it becomes more important for us to ensure all our products sold on our platform undergo strong quality checks and are tested and approved by our celebrity partners,” he said.
