After music director Hiphop Tamizha Aadhi came up with a music video titled Takkaru Takkaru, in support of the controversial jallikattu in TN, it was Dhanush and Arya who came out in support of the same. On Friday, Simbu endorsed the sport. In a statement to the press, he said, “Jallikattu is one of the many remnants of ancient Tamil culture that are still alive.

It’s disgraceful that some groups and individuals have managed to misguide and misinform the authorities of the governance and judiciary on this. When there are many issues that seek the intervention of the administrative and judicial systems on priority basis, why is this issue on the forefront?” Simbu added that he’s reflecting the voice of the thousands of villagers as a responsible citizen.

“Apart from being a pastime, bull-taming has remained a symbol of Tamil culture. It also protects our Indian cattle breed. Imposing a law against the popular sentiments of a particular state can never be a binding factor,” he shared.
