Actor Vijay

It's official. Vijay, who’s busy with Bairaava, will be teaming up with Atlee in Vijay 61 (tentatively titled). The duo worked together recently in Theri, which was a box office hit.

It isn’t clear if it is a sequel or a new project altogether. We hear this untitled flick will be bankrolled by Sri Thenandal Films.

According to sources, the production house had approached Atlee to write a script for Vijay, which the actor too found interesting. It looks like the film will go on floors next year.

“The other details including the technicians, cast and crew will be finalised eventually,” said the source.

Buzz is that GV Prakash, who composed music for Theri, has been roped in for this too. Rumour mills also suggest that Kajal Aggarwal is likely to be the heroine but nothing has been confirmed yet.

“She was approached with the script and talks are on. The chances of her being the heroine is high,” added the source.

Hema Rukmani, CEO, Thenandal Films said, “We are proud of roping in a big star like Vijay for the first time and hope to recreate the Theri magic.”
