RGV Tweets Apology

Ram Gopal Varma sent across an apology on Wednesday, as a response to his mistaken tweet on Tuesday about the death of veteran director K Balachander.

“”My apologies for tweeting about Mr.Balachander without checking on the rumour. Wishing him a speedy recovery”, he tweeted on Wednesday.

RGV on Tuesday tweeted, “Feeling sad for the passing away of K Balachander, the only true maverick director of Indian cinema.” It was around the same time that rumours about his death were doing rounds.

Balachander is still in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), but his condition is stable according to recent reports. Balachander’s favourite actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan, who is currently in Los Angeles busy with the post-production work of Tamil film Uttama Villain, conveyed through a video that he will visit him as soon as he is done with his work. Kamal wishes to show the film to Balachander, who has played an important role in it.

Known for introducing several stars, Balachander has over 150 films to his credit. Some of his best films include Aval Ora Thodar Kathai, Apoorva Raagangal, Avargal, Varumayin Niram Sigappu among others.
