Actress Charmme Kaur seems to be at the heart of all controversies in the Telugu film industry, and is struggling to wriggle out of them. Hours after she sensationally declared that actor Nithiin and his home production are facing financial issues, the Jyothi Lakshmi star went into damage control mode on Monday and apologised to Nithiin for her remarks.

“The truth is that even I don’t know for what reasons Puri Jagannadh and Nithin’s film stopped. But just because I heard some rumours from somewhere about their finance problems, I said it to the press without checking the facts and that is my mistake. I sincerely apologise for that,” said Charmme, in a statement.
It all started when several reports suggested that the actress-turned-producer Charmme had forced director Puri Jagannadh to dump actor Nithiin and his father Sudhakar Reddy from his next film.
Puri, who had earlier worked with Nithiin last year in Heart Attack, had announced that he would be teaming up with actor once again in a film to be produced by Sudhakar Reddy. The script was ready and Regina Cassandra had been roped in to play the lead opposite Nithiin and the untitled film was all set to be launched on June 12, when Nithiin shockingly announced on Twitter that he was no longer a part of the film due to undisclosed reasons.
The director subsequently revealed that he was going to rope in another actor with the same script. Soon after, rumour mills were abuzz that Charmme was the real reason for the film’s cancellation as she was keen to produce the film instead.
However, a defiant Charmme dismissed rumours and instead suggested that the fallout was due to financial reasons and not her.
“Since Nithiin’s home production is investing a lot of money on Akhil’s debut film, they fell short of funds and hence called off the film with Puri,” Charmme had said.
Her statements on Nithiin’s financial troubles caused obvious ripples in the film industry and infuriated the Heart Attack star, leading to her subsequent public apology.
It remains to be seen how Nithiin responds to this apology.
